I’ve had several requests from my friends and family to participate in an internet trend that is sweeping the nation: drawing eyebrows on your dog and taking pictures of them. I didn’t know this was a thing, but apparently it really is.

Doggy Birthday Party! With Cake!

Remember when you were a little kid and you wished that everyday could be your birthday? Well when you are an adopted shelter dog and you have an owner who a) doesn’t know when your real birthday is, b) loves any excuse to throw a party, and c) is completely ridiculous when it comes to animals – everyday CAN be your birthday!

When I adopted Remus (whose name was originally “Chi Chi” – gross), they had no information regarding his birthday, or even his exact age. Beach sign While Orange County has its share of mountains, valleys, and cities, So Cal is perhaps best known for its vibrant beach scene – and what better way to enjoy this staple of California culture than with man’s best friend by your side? Open 365 days a year from 5am to 10pm, the Huntington Dog Beach is without a doubt one of the ultimate locations in Orange County for both you and your pooch to have a fantastic experience. Remus and I have been there a few times before, but our visit this past Friday was probably our favorite (our previous visits had been on weekends and were therefore a little more crowded). Pet Adoption in Orange County: Your Fur-ever Friend

It’s a tale as old as time: boy meets dog, boy falls for dog, dog joins basketball team and makes the winning shot, dog has to choose between boy and previous owner (who is a professional clown), dog chooses boy.

Okay, maybe this isn’t how the average person meets their four-legged best friend, but I like to think that the message here is universal – that adopting a pet makes them much more loyal toward you (and also that co-ed sports in school was too radical of an idea for the 90’s, but having a dog on your team apparently wasn’t).
